Thank You To Seminole Feed

A Big Thank You to Seminole Feed

We’re thrilled to announce that Seminole Feed, in Ocala, Florida, is generously donating all of the horse feed for the upcoming Great Florida Cattle Drive. Their support ensures that our equine partners will have proper nutrition. Furthermore, it demonstrates the company’s commitment to upholding the traditions of Florida’s cattle and horse heritage.

A Brief History of Seminole Feed

  • The first Seminole Feed retail store opened on April 24, 1934, in downtown Ocala. They carried a range of agricultural supplies, including feed, seed, and fertilizer. Over the decades, as the equine industries grew in North Central Florida, Seminole Feed expanded into specialized horse feeds and built its own mill, establishing itself as a respected name in equine nutrition.

  • Today, their feeds are milled in a non-medicated facility in downtown Ocala, and the company emphasises “fixed formulas,” quality control, and serving the equine community.

  • Their long-standing commitment to horses—and to the region’s ranch and equine culture—makes their support of the Great Florida Cattle Drive all the more meaningful.

Feed Options for the Drive

When you register for the cattle drive, you’ll be asked to select one of two feed options that Seminole Feed is providing:

  • Pelleted option: Profecta 14 – This is a premium pelleted feed made with highly digestible fibers and top-quality grains. Plus it’s fortified with chelated trace minerals and antioxidants, and designed to maintain controlled starch levels, reducing the risk of metabolic upset. Ideal for growing, breeding, and performance horses.

  • Sweet feed (textured) option: Senior Formula – A super-premium textured feed scientifically formulated to meet the needs of older horses, but suitable for all life stages. It’s dust-free and easy to chew, fortified with antioxidants, vitamins, and chelated trace minerals. It also contains a balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids from ground flaxseed and soy oil. It is  low in starch with high levels of digestible fiber, significant for gut health, or for horses with special maintenance or respiratory needs.

Why This Matters to Our Heritage

Florida’s cattle-ranching and equestrian culture go hand in hand. Horses have long been central to cattle drives, ranch work, and the spirit of the open range. Seminole Feed’s generous donation provides essential nutrition for the horses on the ride.

We appreciate this meaningful partnership. Above all, a Florida-based company, rooted in Ocala’s horse capital, is stepping up to support a statewide cattle and cow culture event.

A Heartfelt Thank You

To the entire Seminole Feed team: Thank you. Your support is a testament to your commitment  to equine nutrition and performance. Additionally, it preserves and celebrates Florida’s ranching and equestrian legacy.

We look forward to proudly including your name among our valued partners. Partners and sponsors make these traditions possible.

All participants of the Great Florida Cattle Drive will select their feed option during registration. Again, thank you, Seminole Feed, for your generous donation.
