Florida Forest Service

Thank You to the Florida Forest Service

The Florida Cow Culture Preservation Committee and the organizers of the 2026 Great Florida Cattle Drive are proud to recognize the Florida Forest Service for their invaluable support.

As part of the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, this agency is charged with protecting nearly 17 million acres of state and private forests. Their responsibilities encompass a range of activities, including wildfire prevention and suppression, managing state forests, promoting reforestation, and providing environmental education and outreach. They are on the frontlines of safeguarding Florida’s natural resourcesFlorida Forest Service while also ensuring that the public can responsibly enjoy the land.

For the 2026 ride, their team is providing essential logistical support that keeps the cattle drive running smoothly and safely. This includes:

  • Placement of water troughs at each night’s camp, as well as along the route wherever needed.

  • Supplying all the firewood for wagon circles throughout the week.

Beyond this event, the agency plays a critical role in conserving Florida’s unique ecosystems, supporting rural communities, and protecting the very landscapes that make a cattle drive of this magnitude possible. Their dedication enables us to celebrate the cowboy heritage while honoring the state’s natural beauty.

We are grateful for their partnership and continued commitment to preserving both Florida’s forests and its rich cultural history.
